Polícia Federal faz buscas contra Cláudio Castro em operação sobre Refit

A Polícia Federal cumpre, na manhã desta sexta-feira (14), mandados de busca e apreensão em um dos endereços do governador do Rio de Janeiro, Cláudio Castro, na Barra da Tijuca. A ação faz parte da segunda fase da Operação Sem Refino, autorizada pelo Supremo Tribunal Federal (STF), que expediu ao todo 16 mandados para desarticular um esquema de fraudes na concessão de licenças ambientais para a refinaria Refit (antiga Manguinhos).

A ofensiva demonstra o fortalecimento das instituições federais de controle e a retomada do rigor na fiscalização ecológica sob a atual gestão do governo federal. As investigações apontam que servidores e autoridades estaduais teriam recebido vantagens indevidas para burlar normas técnicas e liberar o funcionamento da empresa sem o devido cumprimento das regras de preservação ambiental.

Entre os graves crimes apurados estão fraude ambiental, sonegação fiscal, lavagem de dinheiro, crimes contra a ordem econômica no setor de combustíveis e evasão de divisas. A operação cumpre determinações do STF no âmbito da ADPF 635, que visa combater a infiltração de organizações criminosas em estruturas do poder público fluminense.

Esta nova etapa é um desdobramento da ação iniciada em maio, quando o ministro Alexandre de Moraes determinou a prisão do empresário Ricardo Magro, apontado como líder do grupo econômico da refinaria e que atualmente está foragido nos Estados Unidos. O esquema sob investigação envolvia favorecimentos em secretarias estaduais de Fazenda, no Instituto Estadual do Ambiente (Inea), na Procuradoria-Geral do Estado e em integrantes do Judiciário do Rio de Janeiro.
